The Princeton Community Library needs your help!

Donations of Easter eggs and other candy are being accepted now at Princeton’s community library. For more information, contact Library Director Tiffany Long at 972-736-2860. This will be the first-ever citywide egg hunt hosted by Princeton. As business owners and as members of the community, we need to help the library promote this worthwhile event for the children of Princeton. Please contribute whatever you can. If you do not have the time to deliver the candy, please call me at 214-549-0005 or the chamber office at 972-736-6462 and leave a message. Glendy or I will come by to pick up your donation and deliver to the library.

Also, it has come to the attention of the Library Director, Tiffany Long, that there are many girls in Princeton who do not go to the prom because they cannot afford a prom dress. Tiffany is collecting prom dress donations. If you have a dress that is in good condition and would like to donate it, please call Tiffany at the above number. If you would like to donate money for the purchase of a prom dress, I am sure that would be greatly appreciated as well. Let’s support the young ladies in our community.

I would like to thank Tiffany for her concern for the children and young people of Princeton and for putting that concern into action. We as chamber members should support all positive endeavors in Princeton.

In about a month Princeton residents will have two cans to roll out on trash day. The city council voted July 28 to approve a bi-monthly recycling service through IESI, which currently handles the city’s trash pickup.

The new service will go into effect some time in August or September and will allow residents to recycle plastics, glass, cardboard, paper, aluminum, steel and tin by placing those materials into a separate 65-gallon bin that will be cleared on trash day twice a month.
